i don't have much info on sororities but i am a freshman in texas angels! Just do a search for threads about UT. What works for one person may not work for another. She did not have anyone in any houses pulling for her as our high school is very lowly represented at UT. Nevertheless, recruiting in this fashion does attract beautiful girls. With consistently high marks for physical attractiveness, sociability, and popularity, Pi Beta Phis certainly earn the envy of other sororities and the interest of fraternities. Generally everywhere I see pictures of Pi Phi's (top tier) and Tri Delts as having the most consistently beautiful members of the sororities. We don't have much of that her in or country, but from what I have gathered it's not so bad if you find the right one to be a part of. So of course I mean - ignore stupid trash like greekrank.com. They have a reputation for accepting those who were rejected by top-tier sororities and that they are a backup option for many. KD was a well desired house this year by a lot of PNMs and for good reason. Many consider them to be obsessed with their looks and say they have a reputation for body image issues. Proud KKG, but all of these sororities are amazing with outstanding members. This is pretty accurate, but I go to a southern school where Chi O and Kappa are at the very top. There is a wide variety, culturally, from one sorority to another. At my school, Chi O and KD are considered the "best" sororities and what you said about the Chi O's is illustrated exactly at my school. Usually nice and fun. Ole Miss, Bama, LSU who cares! I am happy to say I still have close friends from college 20 years later, sans a sorority. Dont know much about them. ADPi: Not a fan favorite during rush. I can agree it has to be an objective sort, of survey that produces such varied results, but as there many kinds of, people, there must be many kinds of "groups" to belong to. It doesn't work all the time, but it works enough of the time that sororities have maintained their popularity among undergrads for more than 120 years. Alpha Chi Omega: Used to be almost in the top six. No specific reputation here, usually not as pretty as the other big 6. KD is nothing except in the South, same with Zeta, which folded. Some would consider Kappa top house at UT. Every house at UT has something to offer. Depending upon the campus, Tri-Delts are either regarded as lower-end top-tier, or higher-end mid-tier. They actually drop out of recruitment than pledge a bottom tier sorority, like kappa Kappa Gamma or DZ. Chi O and Zeta both run with PKT and Fiji a bit. Wouldnt be surprised if they continue to improve over the next few years. Kappa is mid- tier and Theta is very good. Lower Middle Tier: AChiO, DG I disagree on ADPi. -Drop- Pi Phi: Their PC18 had some snap bids and it seemed like this year girls prefered Zeta and Chi O above Pi Phi. I find that college is s great place to create lasting friendships, with or without a sorority. My roommate, whose dad owns half the state, went Pi Phi. Alpha Omicron Pi. They used to be seen as a step above KD and ADPi, but theyve been slipping with their PCs over the last few years. It's so weird to see girls get so upset over getting dropped by the good sororities and having to go to the lowest tier parties. Also, if you do not get a bid from a house that you want, you can rush again your sophomore year (assuming youre currently a freshman). Tri Delt: Really outgoing and fun girls. I am at a TX college and top tier is Kappa, Theta and Pi Phi. My mother and daughter are members of Pi Beta Phi. Theyve got a great house. Thetas are hot and WILD. What about Alpha Sigma Tau? Each sorority's traits vary by campus. Pi Phi/ Theta It's just a great place to meet friends that you will have for the rest of your life. It's not just a few. AXO: party girls who could be big 6 but got cut due to lack of connections, unluckiness, or bad reputation. This is not just for UT but for many other schools.

UT rush is incredibly competitive due to the high number of legacies and in state students who already have connections with the chapters, plus the number of PNMs who only seem to want one of six chapters. The best way to find out for sure is to participate in recruitment events. This reputation is by no means uniform, which may be due to the diversity of girls who pledge KD. Chi o- "bible beaters"- love The Lord, academics is important, Pi Phis (top)- love their Lilly and pearls with a dash of vodka, while Kappas (top) just love their vodka (and are usually the more 'brunette' house with rich girls), alpha phi - idgaf girls, very popular among the frats, easy DZ..nuff said, tri-delts (tri hards) usually pretty top - your camp counselor kinda gals, zetas (top) the on campus barbies, theta---jocks - so on with that. Pi Beta Phi is known as Pi Bitchy Phi and is the recognitized,as far and above,'The Top' sorority on my huge Greek-led campus. It's definitely not for me though. Some are kind of crazy. A lot of these are inaccurate. (Hang w/ Tri Delt, some Zeta, and some PKT + Sig Ep, KA, and some Fiji) However their PC18 was better than AChiOs,DGs,KDs, and ADPis. Finally, which would you like to be a sister in (if you were into that type of thing)? This description may be related to two stereotypes about them: Unfortunately, this reputation has led most other sororities on some campuses to consider them lower-tier. Because honestly, sororities aren't like what you see in the movies. Phi Mu is very popular at LSU, but NOT at Arkansas and they even lost their chapter at UA bc they couldn't maintain their numbers. Less necessary for connections. While some have strong national cultures across all chapters, there are bound to be differences from one university or college to another. Depending on the campus the girls can change but one thing holds true. You can't classify ANY sorority with a "general reputation"..each chapter at each university is different. My experience was that the Kappas, Thetas and Pi Phis were tops. However, DZ women are also known for their strong sisterhood and mutual support. Some of those houses still hold clout, but others are slipping. Many have noted that while Chi Os are sweet and classy, they are not necessarily known as the most physically attractive women (but not the ugliest, either; many have said they are plain Janes). Also they have the majority of UT cheerleaders. Seriously. i think everyone can agree that this is wrong. Most girls have a connection to get in here and usually have been told they will be a Pi Phi before rush week begins. Definitely ChiO and KKG are the top tier at most schools. Acacia. But be very careful not to fall in love with anyone specifically. Any answers you can provide will be helpful . Agreed on everything except AXO. The rest of the 'general' descriptions are amazingly accurate. You will find some houses that balance GPA, socials and charity work and some that dont do that so well. There is some good advice there about recruitment in general also. So if you're reading this article, please do more research than this fool did. Half of KKG's pledge class drops out before graduating. Every girl should have the opportunity to get a feel for each and every house she rushes and decide for herself which she would fit in the best at. Pi Beta Phi at Arkansas is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of what is posted on here. Can you do anything about this? Although Zeta Tau Alphas are often committed to philanthropy and successful fundraisers, they have a reputation for only accepting white girls. Because of this, only the nastiest sorority girls will outwardly dislike a Delta Zeta girl. I would spend time reading some of the recruitment stories on UT to understand just how brutal the cuts can be

Focus on what you can control, enjoy getting to meet new people and stop stirring up trash talk

No one here should discuss sorority reputations, and certainly not name names, because frankly with over 200 girls in each house you really cant pigeonhole them that way. I am a proud ZTA, I do not wear heavy makeup, I do not act like a princess, this website is very wrong & this author needs to meet REAL ZTA and do more research, we are good people with empathy and love . This stereotype is, of course, hotly disputed by the Zetas themselves. They are not considered nicebut not outright nasty either. This sorority seems more concerned about recruiting a wide range of girls, which can make chapters diverse and interesting, than recruiting the most "beautiful" girls. Why is it that every other day we get some insecure big 6 girl coming in and posting a thread like this to reaffirm the outdated social hierarchy theyre so desperate to maintain. Seriouslyagainclueless. Again all the "rude" terms that I just associated with each house to not describe the individuals of a house, but terms like these come about when certain houses act together in poor ways.
